The goal of this course is learning to create clean, standardized, intelligent facility drawings, which become the basis for rapid analysis applications, such as Transport Work, Affinity and Spaghetti Diagramming, while developing and mentoring experienced USPS PostalCAD students.
Students learn proper drawing clean-up procedures and what it takes to meet the national PostalCAD standard. They practice and learn using their own current workroom floor drawings, which they are required to bring to class. File settings, layers, equipment blocks, and graphic elements of a student’s drawings will be updated using Autodesk Map 3D 2015 and PostalCAD 2015 tools and techniques.
Class format is a combined lecture and lab where students review concepts and tools at the beginning of the session and then apply those concepts directly to their own facility drawings. In addition to the group sessions during the class, time will be allowed each day for the instructor to work with students individually for mentoring them as they standardize and clean up their drawings
