Introduction to PostalCAD

The goal of this course is providing students with the knowledge and skills for using PostalCAD 2023 for all their Postal facility projects. The course introduces students to the methods and interface characteristics of Autodesk Map 3D 2023 and PostalCAD 2023. The classroom program addresses the specific needs of Postal employees designing and documenting mail-processing plants for the USPS. The instructor introduces and demonstrates drafting principles and techniques along with the associated tools. Students then explore the material and investigate the new techniques as a group, or at their own pace.

Using Autodesk Map 3D 2023 and PostalCAD 2023 aliases

Draw commands (lines, polylines, circles, arcs, and text)

Precision drawing (units, object snap, auto snap and direct distance entry)

Modify commands (erase, move, stretch, rotate, and scale)

Construct command (copy, array, offset, and mirror)

Advanced modify commands (trim, extend, and break)

Working with object properties

Creating and inserting blocks

Creating and working with layers
-
Display commands (zoom, pan and view)

Hatching

Dimensioning
